A Little bit of Texas

The Day we got here it rained like no tomorrow!! Jada was so funny, she thought it was awesome because the rain was so warm. When it rains down here the streets just over flow with rain, you drive threw puddles that feel like they are going to swallow my car when you go threw them. I dont know if its because the roads are not designed as well or if the sewer system is not as efficient or what but the roads are covered after a good rain.

Then we had the pleasure of dinning at KD's BBQ. I should have taken more pictures....First thing is it is PACKED...a line around the building. When you go to enter you go through this old rickety staircase with a screen door you have to hold open. Then you grab a plastic tray and put a piece of wax paper on it. Next you go to the "pit" to pick your meat. You dont pick how much you just say what you want and they slap it on your "plate" (sheet of wax paper). This place is one of a kind. Then they have loaves of bread just laying out, beans, onions, cobbler, you see where we are going with this......on the table they dont waste time with napkins, as you see you just get a whole roll of paper towels. The Salt and Pepper shakers were a bottle that someone stabbed with a knife a couple times...so be careful it comes out FAST! Then decor was right up there too! Regardless the meat was AMAZING!!!! The experience was EYEOPENING, we will go back if not for the food but to take some more pics now that i'm not in shock :)

In our house, well and out of our house...We have these house geckos that are EVERYWHERE. This was the first one we caught. They are so fast and like to sit on my flip flops...grrrrrrr. We have learned that they are harmless, and i guess they help keep all the spiders, cockroaches, fireants, and the nasty bugs out of the house, so.......i guess all i have to say is WELCOME my little geckos, welcome. (Dont even think of going in my bedroom though)

Before we left we got to go to Uncle Stu's work and Uncle Dylan's work and ride the Mini Who..... Uncle Stu showing the boys the importance of seat belts :)

Later that night the girls really got spoiled and got to ride with Uncle Jeff on the Harley

The week before we left we stayed with my dad. THANKS DAD!!! Just a couple shots that i managed to get moving pipe in the morning. I dont know how he does it every morning and every night for the last who knows how many years but he is one AMAZING man :)

Movie in the Park

Every Friday in Odessa they do a movie in the park.....so we usually take the drive and see some here and there. This last one was Cars 2. We played at the park for a minute as the sun was setting making for some pretty good pics (with my phone anyway) then nestled in for the movie. It was still almost a little warm, when we got in the car at 11 it was still 85 but fun to get out.

Our New Journey

Midland, TX.....here we come :)

So on our way to the airport we did great, got up on time, got to long term parking with extra time, each of the girls got their bags, things were going ok considering......i should have known that was the sign that things were about to change. After getting 2 girls, myself, and 3 large and i mean LARGE bags, 2 regular size bags, 3 carry ons, my purse and the girls bag with all their toys in it, on the shuttle we were off to the doors to check our bags in and print our boarding passes off. Well when i was getting off the shuttle these really nice guys noticed my struggling and offered to help. They were so nice and helpful other then they handed me some other bag and not one of mine. I didnt notice till the bus drove off.... At about that time an angel apeared....Jackie :) i told her what happened and she helped try to get it straightened out. So i checked the bags in i had and printed our boarding passes while she stayed outside trying to track the bag down and took the girls to the bathroom. Just as i was checking in i hear "wow looks like you travel light..." When i looked up it was another familiar face. Jason, a guy Dustin works with. So he took me under his wing and grabbed some of my bags and helped me corral the girls. So Jackie got my other bag back, we checked it in last minute, and then gave her hugs and kisses, and she gave the girls a travel partner (a sock monkey, and head phones for them for the plane ride) we headed through security which went well. Jason by our side running to the gate we finally arrive and i notice they are about done boarding and i asked if that was our flight and she said "YES" so we jumped on got a window seat and the four of us headed off to Midland :) We wouldnt have made it without the help of all of you!!! THANKS

The girls took turns by the window. First was Mace and she loved it. She was so good on the plane. When we got back on in Vegas, Jada took her turn and she got a little sick looking out so she closed the window off and on but all in all the girls did sooooo good on the plane, it was a good ending to a chaotic beginning.

Ahhhh Bear Lake (#4)

What summer is complete without the annual trip to Bear Lake??? Jada wanted to go before we left, so we invited friends and family for somewhat of a good bye.... Laura & Katelyn

After getting there, getting our stuff set up, and just having a great time.....well it decided to pour on us!!! Just when we thought it was going to let up....WHAM, more rain. The kids didnt realize it was raining till it was halfway through the storm :) Oh to be a kid again!
